Being confident in your body is the foundation for much success to be built upon in a persons life. While there are many options for dealing with unwanted fat on your body, the options aren’t always realistic. The downtime that follows having surgery isn’t viable for everyone and the painful recovery may not be either. Maybe you feel self conscious about others seeing that you had a surgical procedure to address unwanted body fat. Whatever the reason for not wanting to go through with a surgical procedure is, you are not alone! A better alternative to a surgery is finally here and is offered right here in Austin at Steiner Ranch Dermatology by Dr. Ted Lain.
Exilis offers a revolutionary treatment for the reshaping of targeted fat deposits, allowing non-invasive body contouring. Treatments can postpone and even eliminate the need for invasive surgery, particularly for patients with mild to moderate fat deposits. In addition, the Exilis complements conventional invasive liposuction.
How painful is the procedure?
The procedure is not painful at all. In fact, most patients have no complaints and don’t even feel the need for topical anesthetics. While the procedure is heating fat cells, the outer layers of skin will actually feel a cooling sensation. So, the inside layers of skin will be heated while the machine cools the outer layer of skin to keep you comfortable.
Fat volume reduction is usually achieved in 4-6 treatments, takes about 20-30 minutes per session, and is painless. There is no downtime after the treatments. While some people report having some skin redness there should be no pain associated with the redness.

“My experience with the Exilis treatment was great! The treatments were painless and often relaxing. I saw results in both inches and in the fit of my clothes. I lost a total of 9 1/4″, 2 3/4″ from my waist, 3 3/4″ from my mid ab, and 2 3/4″ from my lower ab. I would absolutely do this again. Dr. Lain and his staff are awesome!” – Holly O.
